"Designing HOME for people is a privilege. Empathetically look at people first - to meet their need physically, emotionally and visually" (Phoebe Oldrey)

Color effect. Minimalist child room.

Eager to explore the world, kids are extremely sensitive about their surroundings. Lighting, color and decoration - all impacts their mood and behavior. Even more than us, adults.

COLORS AND CHILD PSYCHOLOGY

According to the color psychologistschildren respond positively to lighter colors, while strong colors stimulate them emotionally. This technique is widely used in marketing to appeal children's vision. Toys, labels on sugary drinks, candies, snacks - all scream the most saturated colors aimed at their attention. Overstimulation is a problem leading to poor concentration and overexcited mood. Therefore children mostly need a visual break - to be ensured at their most secure place - room.

WHAT COLORS RECOMMENDED FOR KID ROOM?

Babies are born seeing black, white and grey by the age of three months anyway. The color psychologists also recommend the achromatic colors as they best contribute to their ability to concentrate and strengthen their vision, help judging different shapes, strengthen cognitive abilities.

VIOLA HOME DESIGN discovers and applies on the girls room:

- 60 % calming palette to help prevent overstimulation and assist in promoting calmness. Off-whites (like cream, ivory, grey) add warmth in addition to opening up the room, space-wise.

- 30% green tone to set to the rest mode by the sleeping bed. Strike a balance between dark and light.

- 10 % muted, earthy color scheme of textile, light wood also add feeling of contentment. The rest is up to the toys, book covers or hanging clothes.
